Spatial mapping of community gardens in Vienna
As part of a spatial mapping of one prominent type of green urban commons, we represented a more or less comprehensive list of community gardens to be found in Vienna. This list took the one published by Gartenpolylog as a starting point. We visited all garden sites mentioned therein and only mapped those still active. We furthermore added gardens that were not present in the list. Caution is recommended concerning the social organization of these gardens, since they are quite heterogenous both in this regard and their spatial organization as well as goals. These issues will be topics of further inquiry.

Green Urban Commons 
Super Karte. Und Danke für die Überprüfung, welche Gärten noch aktiv sind. Ich hätte noch eine Ergänzung: Nachbarschaftsgarten Roda-Roda-Gasse/Ecke Prager Straße im Wien 21. Strebersdorf. Ist zwar kein land-grabbig 🙂 aber ein Pilotprojekt für Nachbarschaftsgärten im Gemeindebau (wo das mit dem grabbing schon immer versucht wurde, aber traditionell sehr schwer ist), von Wiener Wohnen gefördert, vom Verein Wirbel initiert und drei Jahre begleitet und seit 2011 von den GärtnerInnen selbständig geführt.
